The briefing is conducted by the Park Guides, focusing on the essential rules for tracking chimpanzees, the park’s features, and what adventures await you. Following the briefing, the Park Guides will take you on an exhilarating journey into the forest to seek out the chimps. Chimpanzee trekking offers a unique experience compared to gorilla trekking. Chimps spend more time perched high in the trees than gorillas do. Their groups are also more expressive and theatrical. Their cries can be heard from a mile away, echoing through the air long before you draw near. When you finally arrive, they will have already spotted your group. Following chimpanzees typically requires an exciting journey of about 3 to 5 hours. You have just an hour to embark on a thrilling 7-day safari in Uganda to witness the wonders of nature. Seize the moment to capture as many photos as possible.

After an exhilarating hour with the chimps, you will be guided back to the park offices where the company driver will be eagerly awaiting your return. The driver will escort you back to the hotel for a delightful lunch and a chance to recharge. Day 3: Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Exciting game drive in Ishasha – Explore the stunning Kyambura Gorge

7 Days of Exploring Uganda’s Wildlife: You will rise with the sun to enjoy a hearty breakfast before embarking on your next journey. Your adventure begins as our Guide arrives to escort you on a thrilling 2-hour journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, traversing the captivating Ishasha sector. The Ishasha sector is renowned for its remarkable tree-climbing lions. Some of these lions can be spotted in Kruger National Park in South Africa and Lake Manyara in Tanzania. Researchers suggest that lions have developed the skill to climb trees as a clever way to avoid pesky bug bites. They take advantage of their lofty perch among the trees to keenly watch the movements of their prey. The lions are drawn to the robust acacia and fig trees, yet you might also catch a glimpse of them lounging on fallen trunks.

Following Ishasha, the driver will carry on to your lodge, where you can check-in and rejuvenate as you anticipate the upcoming adventure. The upcoming experience is a nature walk through the stunning Kyambura Gorge. The Kyambura Gorge is a breathtaking marvel of nature in Uganda. The gorge is home to an underground forest teeming with life, where you can encounter primates like chimpanzees, baboons, and monkeys, along with hippos and a variety of birds. Prepare to encounter elusive birds, unique trees, and fascinating plants that have adapted to thrive in the gorge.  Following your exploration of the Kyambura gorge, the guide will lead you back to the lodge.

Keep an eye out for fascinating creatures like the hippopotamus, hartebeests, leopard, and buffaloes, along with a variety of birds. Following the exhilarating game drive, the driver will embark on the return journey to the lodge for a delightful lunch and a well-deserved rest.

7 days exploring the wonders of Uganda’s wildlife: After a brief pause, you will embark on an exhilarating boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga Channel stands out as a premier destination for bird enthusiasts in Africa. You will encounter a vibrant array of both resident and migratory birds in abundance. On the boat cruise, you will encounter a variety of water-dwelling mammals, along with lions, leopards, antelope, and primates quenching their thirst at the channel. Hippos, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and crocodiles can often be spotted enjoying the water, whether bathing or drinking.

Dinner and an overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (luxury), Ihamba Lodge / Park View Lodge (mid-range), and Simba Safari Camp (budget).

Day 6: Trekking with Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Forest – Encounter with the Batwa Pygmies

Rise with the sun and enjoy a delightful breakfast while you anticipate the arrival of your driver. The driver will whisk you away to the park offices for an exciting briefing at 7:00am. This briefing is crucial, as it’s your chance to connect with fellow travelers and the Rangers who will guide you into the heart of the forest. The briefing explores a variety of subjects, but the key focus is on how to interact with the gorillas, what to anticipate, and what essentials to bring while tracking these magnificent creatures. Your assignment will involve a gorilla family, tailored to your fitness level and age. This is due to the fact that certain gorilla groups are situated deeper within the forest, necessitating additional hours of trekking during the 7-day Uganda tour. Porters are on hand to assist you with any additional luggage you may have. The Park Rangers will guide you into the forest to seek out the primates. Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park offers an exhilarating experience that lasts between 2 to 6 hours. Once you catch sight of them, snap as many photos as possible because your time together will be limited to just one hour. Encountering mountain gorillas can be exhilarating. Witness them as they groom, frolic, feast, or enjoy a peaceful nap. While some might approach you with a sense of wonder, it is important to stay composed and attentive as you heed the guidance of the park Guides.

After an hour of watching the mountain gorillas, you will make your way back to the starting point where our Guide will be eagerly waiting for you. Be sure to grab your certificate of completion as you return to the Batwa visit at a Uganda safarilodge for lunch and relaxation. Once you have recharged, the driver will whisk you away to explore the Batwa pygmy community. Bwindi forest was once the vibrant home of the Batwa before they faced eviction by the government. The authorities made the choice to remove them from the park and relocate them to a different area. While numerous initiatives were launched to assist the Batwa in adapting to life beyond the forest, they have not achieved the desired success. The Batwa face significant challenges as they navigate life beyond the forest and find it difficult to engage with neighboring tribes. During your time with them, you will discover fascinating insights into their culture and the obstacles they encounter after a life rich with experiences in the forest. Anticipate captivating traditional dance and vibrant performances from the tribesmen.

Enjoy a delightful dinner and a cozy overnight stay at Chameleon Hill Lodge (luxury), Bakiga Lodge (Midrange), or Tarvan Trekkers Bwindi (Budget).

Day 7: Journey back to Kampala for departure

Today marks the final day of your safari, and you can rise at your leisure, keeping your departure time in mind. The driver will take a different path, making a stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara for lunch and the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for some memorable photographs. If time allows, you might also visit the Buganda Royal drum makers to discover the art of crafting giant drums. We trust that your experience in Uganda was filled with excitement and exploration. The driver will take you on a journey to the airport in Entebbe or to your hotel.
