Tour Overview: 5 Days Uganda Gorilla and wildlife Safari

This 5 Days Uganda Gorilla and wildlife Safari is crafted for those eager to embark on a brief yet thrilling journey to encounter majestic mountain gorillas and explore the diverse wildlife within one of Uganda’s stunning national parks. The 5 Days Uganda Gorilla and wildlife Safari features an exhilarating experience of gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park, two thrilling game drives in Queen Elizabeth (one of which is dedicated to spotting the remarkable tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector), and a scenic launch cruise along the Kazinga channel. Uganda is home to incredible tourism destinations waiting to be explored. It is easy to see why Winston Churchill referred to her as “The Pearl of Africa.” This 5 Days Uganda Gorilla and wildlife Safari will truly embody Churchill’s sentiments. Let’s embark on a journey to explore the two national parks, starting with Bwindi.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, with its incredible biodiversity and as a sanctuary for nearly half of the world’s mountain gorilla population, has earned its status as a UNESCO World Heritage site. In addition to mountain gorillas, Bwindi is celebrated as a premier destination for birdwatching in Africa. During your time in Bwindi, prepare for an exhilarating experience of gorilla trekking and an engaging visit with the Batwa pygmies. Exploring the trails in Bwindi offers the chance to encounter chimpanzees and gorillas in their natural habitat. Queen Elizabeth National Park, in contrast, attracts the highest number of visitors in Uganda. The park boasts a stunning and distinctive landscape that stays lush and vibrant all year round. The dynamic forces of the Earth, along with volcanic activity, sculpted breathtaking landscapes such as crater lakes, gorges, and valleys, adding to the park’s stunning allure. The primary experiences in Queen Elizabeth National Park include exhilarating game drives, scenic boat cruises along the Kazinga Channel, thrilling lion tracking, immersive nature walks in Maramagambo Forest, and captivating chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge. On this exciting safari, you will embark on a boat cruise and enjoy thrilling game drives, where you will have the chance to spot the remarkable tree-climbing lions of Uganda.

If five days are not sufficient, consider embarking on a six-day Uganda Wildlife Safari. For an extended and even more captivating safari experience, you might consider our 12-day Uganda wildlife tour package. Keep in mind that this package can be adjusted to incorporate chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park or even in Queen Elizabeth National Park. If your passion lies solely with primates, then our 5-day primates tour in Uganda package could be just what you are looking for. The journey can also begin and conclude in Rwanda.

5 Days Uganda Gorilla and wildlife Safari: Later in the afternoon, you will embark on a visit to the Batwa pygmy community. The Batwa once thrived in the depths of the Bwindi impenetrable forest before embarking on a journey to their present-day homes. The government believed they were safeguarding the forest for gorilla conservation initiatives, yet they overlooked the detrimental effects this decision would impose on a community that had thrived for millennia as hunters and gatherers. Many of the Batwa remained deeply connected to the forest, never fully embracing life beyond its embrace. They faced challenges such as emerging diseases, struggles with alcoholism, and the weight of chronic poverty. Additionally, they faced the challenge of coexisting with fierce neighbors they had long evaded. Many Batwa currently live as squatters on farms owned by the more progressive tribes. During your visit, the Batwa will captivate you with their traditional dances, songs, and tales from their rich history.

Enjoy a delightful dinner and a cozy overnight stay at Chameleon Hill Lodge (luxury), Bakiga Lodge (mid-range), or Rushaga Camp (budget).
