Day 1: Journey to the breathtaking Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda)

Your journey begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Kigali or the airport upon your arrival, setting the stage for an exciting 5-day adventure in Uganda and Rwanda. Travel alongside our Driver/guide as we journey north to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri, the sanctuary of 360 Mountain Gorillas. Dinner and an overnight stay at Mountain Gorillas View Hotel, 5 Volcanoes Lodge (Luxury), Gorilla Solution Lodge, Le Bambou Lodge (midrange), or Muhabura Hotel (Budget).

Day 2: The Exciting Quest for Gorillas

At 7:30am, gather at the park headquarters for an exciting briefing, equipped with your gorilla trekking gear, drinking water, and a packed lunch. Your driver guide will take you to the starting point of the thrilling gorilla trail that leads into the forest. It could take anywhere from 1 to 8 hours to meet the gorillas. You will have the opportunity to capture photographs and enjoy their company for up to an hour. Head back to the lodge for a well-deserved break and a delightful lunch. Spend your evening exploring the wonders of a nature walk or immersing yourself in the vibrant traditions at the Ibyiwacu Cultural Village, where Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage comes to life. Day 3: Embark on the Dian Fossey hike and journey to the enchanting Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Uganda)

In the morning, you will embark on the next leg of your 5-day journey through Uganda and Rwanda as you gather at the park headquarters for an exciting briefing. Prepare for an exhilarating hike to the Karisoke Research Center, founded by the passionate American primatologist Dian Fossey. She devoted her life to the conservation of mountain gorillas, and her legacy continues in this remarkable place where she rests alongside Digit, a beloved mountain gorilla. Discover the fascinating lives of the mountain gorillas at the research center. Upon your return, you will journey into Uganda and make your way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a sanctuary for half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (mid-range) or Chameleon Hill Lodge, Buhoma Community Haven (Luxury).

Day 4: Another thrilling gorilla tracking experience

In the morning, gather at the park headquarters for an exciting briefing from the park rangers about the essential guidelines to follow while encountering the gorillas. Embark on an unforgettable journey through the forest, an experience that could last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, influenced by the movements of the gorillas in their natural habitat. Encounter and spend time with the familiar mountain gorillas for a minimum of one hour. As you emerge from the forest, your tour guide will be ready to whisk you away to the lodge for a well-deserved break and a delightful lunch. In the evening, you might explore the nearby Batwa community. Enjoy a delightful dinner and spend the night at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (mid-range), Chameleon Hill Lodge (luxury), or Buhoma Community Haven (luxury).

Day 5: Journey to Kigali

After breakfast, embark on your journey back to Kigali to wrap up the exhilarating 5-day Uganda & Rwanda Combined safari. Consider embarking on an exciting city tour of Kigali, where you can explore the vibrant local market, delve into the museum, and pay your respects at the Gisozi genocide memorial center, among other intriguing stops, if time permits before your flight. Your safari guide will escort you to the airport for your scheduled flight to your next thrilling destination.
