Day 1: Pickup and Journey to Nyungwe (Around 6 hours on the road)

In the morning, a driver will collect you from your hotel in Kigali and embark on a journey south to the enchanting Nyungwe Forest National Park. Your journey will take you through Butare, where you will explore the national museum of Rwanda and the king’s palace in Nyanza, with a delightful lunch along the way. Enjoy a delightful dinner followed by a cozy overnight stay at your hotel or lodge.

Day 2: Embark on an exhilarating journey to track chimpanzees and traverse the breathtaking canopy walk.

Start your day with a hearty breakfast, then head to the briefing before embarking on an exciting journey into the forest, where you will seek out the lively and spirited inhabitants of Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are a delight to observe, as they leap from tree to tree, filled with chatter and laughter. Tracking chimpanzees typically spans around 3 hours. You will have the opportunity to enjoy your packed lunch that you brought from your lodge or hotel.

After enjoying your packed lunch, you will set off on an exhilarating guided nature walk along the renowned canopy walkway bridge—a thrilling swing bridge stretching 50 meters, suspended high above the ground from majestic trees. Experience the breathtaking rainforest from above, where you can spot wildlife bustling below. Afterward, you will return to your accommodation to unwind and enjoy a leisurely evening. This hike is a quick 2-hour journey. Afterward, reconnect with your guide and journey back to your lodge or hotel.

Day 3: Journey to Volcanoes National Park (Around 5 hours on the road)

After enjoying breakfast, your exciting journey to Volcanoes National Park will begin.

Enjoy lunch before heading to Musanze, the closest town to the breathtaking Volcanoes National Park located in Rwanda’s northern province. Enjoy a delightful dinner followed by a cozy overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 4: Embarking on a Gorilla Trek in Volcanoes National Park

Get ready for an exciting start to your day with an early morning breakfast before heading to the park headquarters. Bring along your packed lunch and bottled water for a briefing by the park ranger guides at 7:00am. Following the briefing, your expedition will commence as you embark on a thrilling quest alongside ranger guides in pursuit of the majestic mountain gorillas; this adventure may last anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, influenced by the gorillas’ movements.

Yet, the guides will embark on a quest to locate them from their last known sighting the day before! You will spend an hour with these gentle giants before heading back to your lodge to unwind and rejuvenate. In the evening, you have the chance to embark on an optional tour to the Dian Fossey Centre at Karisoke, where you will explore the Dian Fossey museum and learn about her remarkable contributions. Dinner and an overnight stay as previously mentioned.

Day 5: Trekking with Golden Monkeys and Exploring Ibyi’wacu Village

Breakfast will be ready at dawn, and a lunch full of surprises will be prepared for your journey. The briefing kicks off bright and early at 7 am. Your guide will share captivating insights into the lifestyle of the golden monkeys you will be tracking. The hike can span anywhere from one to seven hours.

Wandering through the steep, bamboo slopes and eventually encountering the golden monkeys hidden among the lush greenery is an exhilarating and cherished experience. Upon encountering the golden monkeys, you have the opportunity to observe them for one hour from a distance of 6 meters. After this enchanting experience, you will reunite with your driver/guide and journey to your lodge for a delightful lunch and a chance to relax for a bit.

After lunch, you will embark on an exciting journey to Ibyi’wacu village, famously known as the “Gorilla Guardians Village.” Discover the fascinating cultural heritage of Rwanda as you explore the former King’s Palace and enjoy captivating performances of traditional Rwandan folk dance and singing by the local intore dance troupe. After your exciting day, head back to your lodge for a delightful dinner and a cozy overnight stay at the same place as before.

Day 6: Journey to Kigali, Flight to Tanzania (Own Booking) – Recommended: Kenya Airways

Following a hearty breakfast at the lodge, embark on your journey to Kigali International Airport, located approximately 4 hours away, in preparation for your flight to JRO.

As you touch down in Tanzania, an exciting journey begins with your transfer to the hotel where you will be staying. Arrive, savor a delightful late dinner, and settle in for an overnight experience at your lodge.

Day 7: Journey to Tarangire National Park, Wildlife Exploration

Following your breakfast, you will embark on a drive to Tarangire National Park, where your thrilling wildlife viewing experiences in Tanzania will commence. Once you arrive at your lodge in the national park, you will get ready to enjoy your lunch before embarking on an exciting journey into the wild.

On your game drive, you will encounter a vibrant array of wildlife species as they graze and roam freely in the national park. Expect to see majestic lions, graceful giraffes, swift antelopes, elusive leopards, powerful buffalos, and herds of wildebeests. Elephants and cheetahs add to the excitement, while impalas and a variety of bird species can be spotted, particularly around the stunning Tarangire National Park. As you soak in the breathtaking sunset and the stunning scenery surrounding you, your guide will whisk you back to your lodge for a delightful dinner and a cozy overnight stay.

Day 8: Journey through the Ngorongoro Crater, Exploring on Foot

After enjoying breakfast at the lodge, embark on a drive to the conservancy and prepare to descend approximately 600 meters into the Ngorongoro crater as you embark on your game drive. Prepare to encounter a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffalos, rhinos, cheetahs, hippos, antelopes, kudu, zebras, impalas, and gazelles, as you explore the stunning Ngorongoro crater floor. Keep an eye out for attractions such as Lake Magadi nestled in the crater, where flamingos and various bird species grace the lake shores.

After your picnic lunch in the wild, embark on a walking safari experience in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you can encounter nature and wild game up close, including zebras and antelopes, all while being guided by a ranger. Return to the lodge, relishing yet another thrilling game viewing experience, followed by dinner and a cozy overnight stay.

Day 9: Exciting Full Day Game Drive in Ngorongoro

Enjoy your breakfast in the morning and set off for an exhilarating day of exploration in Ngorongoro. Make sure to bring your packed lunch from your lodge. Take this day to embark on a quest to discover wildlife that may have eluded you during your previous game drive.

Later, enjoy dinner and spend the night at your lodge just like before.

Day 10: Journey to the Serengeti National Park

Get ready for an exciting day ahead as you enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on your journey to Serengeti National Park. As you journey through the open savannah plains towards the northern part of the Serengeti, you will encounter a variety of wildlife species, all while savoring a delightful lunch along the way.

As you embark on your game drive in the national park, prepare to be captivated by the stunning landscapes, including the majestic kopjes where lions can be spotted observing their next meal. During your game drive, you will encounter a thrilling array of wildlife, including elephants, buffalos, warthogs, hyenas, giraffes, wildebeests, antelopes, and impalas, among others. You will embark on your journey to your Lodge/camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Days 11 and 12: Exciting Full Day Game Drive in Central Serengeti

Today, prepare for an exhilarating game drive in the Serengeti, where you will have the opportunity to encounter a variety of wild animals, including the majestic big 5. Prepare for a delightful lunch in the park, followed by an exhilarating game drive in the central Serengeti, where you will have the opportunity to encounter the magnificent wildlife near the Seronera River. Head back to the lodge or camp, unwind as you anticipate dinner and a cozy night ahead.

Day 13: Journey to the Masai Mara Reserve

After breakfast at the lodge, embark on a drive to the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya, crossing the Isebania border where your Kenya safari guide will be waiting to greet you once more. Make your way to the lodge while keeping an eye out for incredible wildlife in the reserve, including herds of wildebeests. Experience the incredible spectacle of the great wildebeest migration in Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy a delightful dinner followed by a cozy overnight stay at your chosen lodge or camp.

Day 14: An Exciting Day in Masai Mara

Experience an exhilarating day traversing the vast plains of Masai Mara, where you will seek out diverse wildlife and have the opportunity to witness the spectacular great migration. Keep an eye out for a variety of wildlife, including the iconic big five, as well as antelopes, elands, zebras, gazelles, and many more fascinating creatures. Experience the thrill of encountering diverse wildlife in the park, including the iconic big five; and if you visit between July and October, you might witness the breathtaking spectacle of the Great Migration.  In the evening, you will embark on a journey to visit the Maasai Tribe and immerse yourself in their rich culture and way of life. Dinner and an overnight stay as previously mentioned.

Day 15: Journey to Nairobi and Farewell.

As your safari adventure comes to a close, you will savor a delightful breakfast before checking out of the lodge. Your guide will then accompany you on your journey back to Nairobi, where you can choose to be dropped off at the airport or your preferred location, marking the end of an unforgettable experience.
