Rovos Rail operates two restored classic trains, each of 20 rehabilitated original coaches, some of which date back to prior to the 1920s. The ultra-luxurious Royal Suites, each occupying half a carriage, and the ordinary Pullman Suites offer accommodations that are more spacious and refined than any other train globally. Their elite chefs are renowned for creating delicacies that compete with those of the world’s finest restaurants.

The opulent accommodations on the Rovos Rail train
The Rovos Rail apartments are all exceptionally sumptuous, although some include additional features that the most discerning travelers desire. The trains can host 72 guests across 36 suites. There are three categories: Royal, Deluxe, and Pullman Suites.
Each suite includes a dedicated hostess available at your request and a bar fridge stocked with an array of beverages and snacks for your travel.
Royal Suite
The Royal Suite is indeed suitable for royalty. It occupies a substantial half of a carriage (about 16m²), featuring a private parlor and an en-suite bathroom with a Victorian bath.
Luxury Suite
The Deluxe Suite measures 10m² and has an en-suite bathroom along with a compact lounge area.
Pullman Suite
The Pullman is suitable for brief excursions, with an area of 7m². The sofa seat transforms into either double or twin beds during the evening hours.
