Marataba Safari Lodge : Rates, Reviews, Booking Information
Luxurious Bushveld accommodation in proximity to Johannesburg
Marataba Safari Lodge, a component of More Hotels, is situated within a private 23,000-hectare Big 5 reserve at the base of the Waterberg Mountains. In addition to Africa’s Big 5, one will observe a diverse array of avian species, including the largest colony of endangered Cape vultures globally. Marataba hosts a substantial population of leopards, making sightings of these elusive creatures somewhat frequent.
Located in a malaria-free area just four hours north of Johannesburg, Marataba is enveloped by stunning mountain scenery, verdant hills, and fertile valleys. This location features uncommon yellowwood and cedar trees, five-meter high cycads, and tree ferns. A distinctive advantage of the lodge is a boat that transports visitors down the Matlabas River, allowing them to savor sundowners and a breathtaking vista of the Waterberg.
The resort comprises 15 Luxury Tents, each room equipped with a private terrace that offers views of the mountains and the river below. The opulent free-standing stone bathrooms in each apartment provide both indoor and outdoor showers. A lawn in front of the lodge provides a view of a frequented waterhole and serves as the venue for dinner service.
