Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp

Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp : Rates, Reviews, Booking Information

Walk confidently among the flamingos

The name Lake Elmenteita originates from the Maasai term ‘ol muteita’, which translates to ‘place of dust’.  However, do not be deceived by the name: with its turquoise waters and verdant shoreline, this region is far from arid and bleak.  This is most evident at Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp.

The elegant flamingo might be considered Elmenteita’s unofficial emblem.  Located approximately two hours’ drive from Nairobi, the wetland reserve housing this camp is a veritable heaven for avian enthusiasts.  Pelicans, waterfowl, and flamingos are among the 450 avian species in the reserve, typically observed along the lake’s shoreline and rocky islands.  The area is excellent for wildlife observation, featuring Rothschild’s giraffe and leopard as notable species.  Alternatively, choose to be indulged at the onsite spa by skilled therapists.

The accommodation comprises 25 luxury suites, each equipped with Wi-Fi, a mini-bar, an electronic safe, and a private deck offering a view of the lake.  For additional luxury, reserve the Flamingo Suite, including an expansive lounge and a private plunge pool.  The primary section comprises a bar, restaurant, and lounge.
