Pilanesberg Game Reserve encompasses a crater created by an extinct volcano that last erupted ages ago.  This 57,200-hectare refuge features a remarkable population of huge animals, surpassing 10,000 individuals, including the Big Five.  Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge is situated on a slope in Pilanesberg, providing an exceptional safari experience just two hours from Johannesburg.

Kwa Maritane is teeming with enthusiasm for the entire family.  Game drives, guided bushwalks, and avian observation are the primary activities, while youngsters may engage in a junior ranger’s program and enjoy stargazing in the evenings.  The lodge features a swimming pool, a bush putt-putt course, an outdoor chess set, a playground, tennis courts, and rock climbing facilities.
