Kulala Desert Lodge : Rates, Reviews, Booking Information
Kulala Desert Lodge
The Namibian terrain extends across vast open plains interspersed with crimson dunes and jagged mountains. Situated in the unspoiled terrain lies Kulala Desert Lodge, located within the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve. The lodge is designed to integrate seamlessly with its natural environment, featuring a private access to the Namib-Naukluft National Park, Africa’s largest game park and the site of the frozen dunes of Sossusvlei.
The private entrance on the Tsauchab River provides direct access to the clay pan of Sossusvlei and its majestic, burnt-orange dunes. Nature excursions and treks unveil the intriguing wildlife and plants resilient enough to endure the hyper-arid environment. Ascend quietly in a hot air balloon, casting its shadow upon the Sesriem Canyon and the skeletal trees of Deadvlei underneath.
The 23 thatched and covered huts, known as “Kulalas,” are constructed on elevated wooden platforms intended to capture the refreshing breezes. Each chalet includes a private verandah, an en-suite toilet, and a balcony on the flat rooftop. The primary space includes a cozy lounge, an indoor dining room, and a bar that extends to the wrap-around verandah with views of the waterhole.
