Safari and Marine Experience with Ukhozi Lodge

Kariega Game Reserve spans the Kariega and Bushman’s River valleys, which flow into the Indian Ocean.  Ukhozi Lodge, offering panoramic vistas of the reserve, encourages guests to explore the area on foot, by vehicle, or by boat, before retreating to the rustic luxury of its elegantly furnished suites, private plunge pools, and viewing decks.

Kariega encompasses around 10,000 hectares and is situated in the historic center of the Eastern Cape, in addition to being a region inhabited by the Big Five.  Visitors may explore Grahamstown, an 1820s Settler settlement that currently has a vibrant university, or visit the picturesque coastal town of Kenton-on-Sea, located about 10 minutes away.

Ukhozi’s primary lodge features opulent sofas, hardwood flooring, stone fireplaces, and illuminated chandeliers—ideal environments for post-safari conversations.  The outdoor boma and rock pool will undoubtedly provide a soothing conclusion to the day, while the 10 air-conditioned suites, private plunge pools, and panoramic views of the reserve extending to the horizon suggest unparalleled luxury.  Each unit is equipped with a spacious bath, indoor shower, safe, telephone, and tea/coffee-making amenities.
