An examination of existence in the Kalahari

Kalahari Main Lodge is situated 50 km northeast of Mariental, on the southern periphery of the Kalahari, amidst some of the region’s tallest dunes, and features a variety of habituated animals, including three cheetahs safeguarded in collaboration with the Cheetah Conservation Fund.

A drive through the ranch in the late afternoon for wildlife observation includes a pause to feed the cheetahs and enjoy sundowners on a dune with an authentic Namibian snack.  A trek with a San bushman to his community, equestrian activities, and stargazing from the Observatory utilizing a cutting-edge computerized telescope are also offered.

The Kalahari Main Lodge features Dune Chalets elevated on stilts atop the dunes, Savannah Chalets situated in the valley between the dunes, and Garden Rooms adjacent to the lodge.  All accommodations are air-conditioned, with en-suite bathrooms, and maintain a uniform high standard of elegance and finishing.  The living area is welcoming, featuring a lounge, reading room, walk-in wine cellar, and cheerful bar.  The exquisite pool and a cozy boma are prominent features, while the dining room, offering local delicacies, overlooks the expansive view of a waterhole and the wildlife-dotted Kalahari dunes beyond.
