Jabulani derives its name from an orphaned juvenile elephant that was entrusted to the owners for rehabilitation.  The proprietors adopted the young elephant, along with other orphaned elephants from Zimbabwe, and the lodge rapidly transformed into a sanctuary for them and other endangered species.

Although Jabulani is a five-star, Relais & Châteaux-accredited luxury establishment within the Kapama Private Game Reserve, its accommodations may be overshadowed by the prominent herd of elephants that resides there.  A variety of activities are available, including wildlife drives, bush walks, and wellness treatments, each providing a valuable and genuine experience.  Furthermore, undertake an extraordinary hot air balloon ride or helicopter tour to explore the magnificent Blyde River Canyon.  The Elephant Experience will be a highlight of your visit: Observe a herd at close range and gain insights into their intriguing behavior.  Jabulani collaborates closely with HERD (Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development), an orphanage dedicated to the care of young elephants prior to their integration into the Jabulani herd.
