Inverdoorn Game Reserve : Rates, Reviews, Booking Information
Safari in the aridly exquisite Klein Karoo
The Klein Karoo, formerly inhabited by an abundance of big game and the Big Five, was gradually depopulated by early settlers who encroached upon its fertile valleys for agricultural purposes. Inverdoorn Game Reserve has restored the Big 5 and numerous more formerly unique species to the area. Currently, visitors can witness the Big Five in one of their historical habitats, just a mere 2.5-hour drive from Cape Town.
The reserve encompasses 10,000 hectares of semi-arid desert, renowned for its striking and distinctive beauty, as well as its seemingly infinite night skies, attracting stargazers and photographers. Visitors may partake in game drives, explore the reserve’s cheetah rehabilitation initiative, monitor cheetahs in their natural habitat, and, contingent upon favorable weather, stroll alongside long-lashed giraffes throughout the reserve.
Iziba Safari Lodge offers Chalets, Luxury Chalets, Guest Houses, and its premier Ambassador Suite, which is particularly favored by couples and honeymooners. Both chalet varieties and the suite feature rooftop terraces offering panoramic views of the surrounding Karoo, while the Guest Houses accommodate families and large parties.
