Within the shadow of the dunes of Sossusvlei

The formidable Tsauchab River originates in the Naukluft and Tsaris Mountains, traversing the Sesriem Canyon and extending over the Namib Desert, although it does not reach the ocean due to the obstruction posed by Sossusvlei’s red sand dunes.  Hoodia Desert Lodge is situated along these banks, just 20 minutes from the clay-panned Sossusvlei.

Ascend the imposing dunes of Sossusvlei and survey the arid lakes, which sporadically flourish every decade, while savoring a light repast accompanied by exquisite wines.  Ascend the Naukluft Mountains or undertake a sundowner drive.  Guests can embark on a hot air balloon safari or a helicopter tour for an aerial perspective of the expansive Namib Desert.

Eleven luxury chalets are dispersed across the property, offering seclusion and comfort.  Each cabin features a separate covered balcony and an outdoor shower.  Relax by the pool with a cocktail from the lodge’s bar during summer, while the roaring fireplaces in the main room and restaurant effectively ward off the cold in winter.
