Hluhluwe River Lodge, situated on a headland with a vista of the western edges of iSimangaliso Wetland Park, provides magnificent views of this UNESCO World Heritage Site amidst the shaded, wooded environment of a conservancy.  This woodland river resort serves as an optimal location for self-drivers exploring the region, with subtropical paradises like Sodwana Bay and Big 5 destinations such as Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park nearby.

Visitors can partake in hippo and crocodile excursions on the St Lucia Estuary, which is a segment of iSimangaliso Park, renowned for housing four of the Big Five.  Enthusiastic divers, fishermen, and beach enthusiasts will be delighted to spend a day in Sodwana Bay or Cape Vidal.  A visit to Hluhluwe’s markets will result in guests acquiring locally-crafted items, while a stay at DuMaZulu Cultural Village will illuminate Zulu culture and history.
