Etendeka Mountain Camp : Rates, Reviews, Booking Information
Mother Nature beckons you to return
Etendeka Mountain Camp aims to connect individuals with nature while maintaining comfort. Situated in the slopes of the Grootberg massif in northern Namibia, the camp is surrounded by ancient Etendeka lava flows that harbor a plethora of remarkable animals — an infinite, crystal-studded landscape of untamed Africa poised for exploration.
This pristine Damaraland features old basalt that has been gradually eroded over millennia, resulting in scattered stones atop spectacular flat-topped mountains. This ostensibly harsh terrain conceals a variety of flora and fauna, including the desert elephant, black rhinoceros, cheetah, oryx, African wildcat, aardwolf, lion, and Hartmann’s Mountain zebra. Engagement with these remarkable beings can occur on foot or through 4×4 vehicles, while nocturnal activities involve alternating use of a telescope to observe faraway stars and other astronomical phenomena.
The environmentally sustainable Etendeka Mountain Camp features 10 Meru Tents and a central dining tent, all powered by solar energy. The tents feature en-suite bathrooms and private patios that provide breathtaking views of Etendeka’s natural beauty. Banquet-style dinners place you beneath the stars at an elongated table in the al fresco dining area.
