Desert Camp

Desert Camp : Rates, Reviews, Booking Information

Allow the desert sands to rejuvenate your spirit in Sossusvlei. Desert Camp offers exceptional self-catering accommodations.  Experience the striking splendor of the Namib Desert in Sossusvlei, featuring panoramic vistas of colossal sand dunes and adjacent mountains.  The camp is situated 5 kilometers from the entrance to Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon, amidst ancient camelthorn trees in Namib Naukluft Park.

This region is a sanctuary for snakes, scorpions, and reptiles; exercise caution and refrain from contact with these animals while traversing the hiking routes.  At dawn, when the contrasts of the dunes are most pronounced, embark on a guided excursion in a game-viewing vehicle to acquire knowledge about the region’s animals and plants.  Ascend the most photographed dune globally and traverse the private reserve on a quad bike.  Scenic flights in a Cessna 210 or a hot air balloon over the desert generate indelible memories.

Accommodation consists of 28 eco-friendly self-catering units situated beneath the expansive sky, including canvas and adobe-style walls.  All units feature en-suite facilities, twin beds, a fold-out sleeper sofa, a shaded patio with a fitted kitchenette, and a barbecue.  Rejuvenate in the swimming pool following your desert expeditions, or procure a beverage from the bar.
