Kwando: Riches of an unrestrained territory
Situated along the banks of the Kwando River, the vital artery of the Caprivi region, Camp Kwando entices travelers to see this area of unspoiled wilderness. Lush riverbanks teem with avian species, while adjacent islands are scattered with tents and the roaming fauna of Caprivi. The camp has accommodations catering to various travelers, from secluded Luxury Chalets to shaded Camping Spots.
Utilize the Kwando River by embarking on a boat excursion to observe its many avian species, partake in a leisurely mokoro paddle through small waterways, or attempt to capture the elusive tiger fish. Game drives to adjacent reserves exhibit large wildlife, while the customary cultural village tour educates visitors on ancestral hunting and fishing methods, as well as typical daily practices.
The thirteen thatched-roof island tents are elevated on poles above the river, each featuring an open-air en suite bathroom. The six Luxury Chalets, constructed from wood and canvas, are elevated on stilts amidst trees, offering privacy and stunning vistas of Botswana’s plains. The verdant camping area offers 10 sites situated under shaded trees along with shared amenities.
