Amakhala Bush Lodge : Rates, Reviews, Booking Information
Luxury Safari on the Frontier
Rich in history, Amakhala Game Reserve was formerly occupied by Frontier settlers who arrived in the region in the early 19th century. Currently, it accommodates the Big 5 and the five-star Amakhala Bush Lodge, whose strategic location overlooking a waterhole ensures exceptional wildlife watching combined with outstanding service.
Amakhala Game Reserve encompasses 7,500 hectares of Eastern Cape landscape in the larger Addo region, serving as a handy safari location located less than an hour from Port Elizabeth’s national airport. In addition to the Big 5, Amakhala also has cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and black wildebeests, among other species. The Amakhala Foundation and Craft Centre was established to conserve animals and support local communities.
Each Tented and Thatched Suite at the resort features an own viewing balcony and plunge pool, while the interior and en-suite bathroom have a fireplace, oval bathtub, outdoor double showers, and air conditioning. Visitors may partake in bi-daily game drives or leave the reserve to engage in golf at Bushman Sands.
