Gorillas reign supreme & the laws of gorillas
The wildlife authorities of Rwanda collaborate tirelessly with their counterparts in Uganda, establishing a set of official ‘gorilla rules’ that reflect their commitment to conservation. The purpose of stringent regulations is to ensure that gorillas encounter minimal human interaction, and when such interactions do occur, they must be subtle and unobtrusive. Upon arriving at your designated gorilla group, you have the opportunity to spend up to an hour with these magnificent creatures, accompanied by a small group of no more than eight people, ensuring a respectful and immersive experience without the rush for the perfect shot. The sole image in Rwanda, from the perspective of conservationists, is a vibrant one for gorillas. There are also quite a few stringent regulations in place to prevent the spread of disease and bacteria. Here they are:

Steer clear of gorilla trekking if you believe there is any chance you might be unwell.
Always cleanse your hands before embarking on your journey
Whisper softly
Keep your hands away from the gorillas. The guides will make sure you maintain a minimum distance of 7 metres at all times.
Refrain from eating or drinking in the vicinity of the gorillas. This is to prevent bits of drink or food from dropping into the gorillas’ habitat, which can heighten the risk of disease spreading.
Stay quiet and in a humble position
Avoid using flash photography.
If you feel the urge to cough or sneeze while in the presence of the gorillas, please turn away and cover your nose and mouth.
