Franschhoek and the Cape Floral Kingdom

Situated in the Franschhoek Winelands and part of the exquisite Cape Floral Kingdom, Boschendal Estate and its cottages provide an idyllic retreat reminiscent of pure romance and literature.  During their stay, guests may engage in hiking, fly-fishing, wine tastings, picnics, horse and carriage excursions, and leisurely strolls through the rose garden.

Several millennia prior, the Drakenstein Valley was populated by the Khoisan, and contemporary visitors can traverse their spectral paths via the myriad hiking and walking trails around the region.  Leisure days are effectively enjoyed here, owing to the expansive vineyards, breathtaking nature reserves, and charming towns scattered around the region.  Boschendal is historically significant, with its original farmstead designated as a national monument.

A variety of appealing residences are offered on the estate, including Clarence Cottage, Rhodes Cottage (a national heritage site), as well as Orchard, Werf, and Trout Cottages.  The cottages are available in various configurations to accommodate families, friends, couples, and colleagues, while providing all guests access to Boschendal’s land and activities.
