A wooden bridge spans a ravine obscured by rock figs, guiding visitors to Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge.  Situated on the ascending slopes of Madikwe Game Reserve’s Tweedepoort Ridge, the resort provides stunning vistas of the adjacent grassland and the old volcanic formations that punctuate the skyline.

The reserve spans the transitional area between Kalahari thornveld and Lowveld bushveld, featuring significant biodiversity.  Madikwe is home to the Big 5, as well as a diverse range of avian species and mammals, including cheetahs, spotted hyenas, and endangered wild dogs.  Guests can fully engage in their safari experience through stargazing, avian observation, and morning and evening wildlife drives.

The lodge’s suites include sliding doors from the bedroom and en-suite bathroom that open onto a private viewing terrace.  The primary lodge features living spaces with a dining room, lounge, upper and lower decks, and a swimming pool.  Buffalo Ridge is owned by the indigenous Balete community, and all personnel are from the adjacent Lekgophung hamlet.  Anticipate captivating narratives of regional folklore accompanied by exquisite, locally-inspired (and locally-produced) feasts around a roaring bonfire.
