Damara Mopane Lodge is situated near Khorixas, along the path to the renowned Twyfelfontein rock engravings.  It is also situated near the Petrified Forest and the Vingerklip rock feature.  The Damaraland region hosts the magnificent desert-adapted elephant, observable in arid riverbeds from the lodge’s hillside viewing deck.  This location is ideal for enjoying the evening sky with a sundowner while seeing the distinctive layout of the resort.

The lodge comprises 60 wattle and daub cottages arranged in a semi-circle, connected by interlinking pathways that culminate at an exquisite swimming pool.  Each cottage features a little tiny garden flourishing with vegetables and vibrant yellow sunflowers.  Heart-shaped mopane leaves symbolize the welcoming essence of Damaraland and its inhabitants — anticipate outstretched palms and cheerful salutations.  At nightfall, proceed to the restaurant for a supper prepared with locally sourced, freshly harvested food.
