Avifauna and the Big Five along the Olifants River

Ezulwini River Lodge is situated among a riverine forest along the banks of the Olifants River in the exclusive Balule Nature Reserve.  In addition to being a haven for avian enthusiasts, the luxury lodge adjoins the unfenced boundaries of Kruger National Park, facilitating remarkable wildlife observation, potentially in close proximity.

Days are centered on morning and evening game drives in the Balule region, where one can observe the Big Five, along with crocodiles, hippos, zebras, giraffes, spotted hyenas, warthogs, impalas, Sharpe’s Grysbok, and kudus, among others.  With fortune, one might observe the African wild dog, cheetah, and honey badger, alongside other elusive fauna.  Amidst exquisite meals and game drives, visitors may refresh in the pool, unwind at the outdoor lounge, and observe birds and wildlife from the viewing platform.
