Okaukuejo Camp : Rates, Reviews, Booking Information
A reliable option for wildlife observation in Etosha
Located 17 km from Andersson’s Gate in the southern region of Etosha National Park, Okaukuejo Camp is the oldest tourist camp within Etosha, serving as both the park’s administrative center and the residence of the Etosha Ecological Institute.
This camp serves as the primary hub of tourist activity within Etosha, with its appeal attributed to its closeness to a substantial, permanent waterhole that is illuminated at night. Wildlife gathers and interacts continuously, providing exceptional game watching and great photographic prospects. You may choose to self-drive across Etosha or participate in a guided safari—morning, afternoon, or night—from the camp to explore and uncover the region’s offerings.
Okaukuejo Camp has a diverse range of lodging options, including double rooms and Premier Waterhole Chalets. All accommodations are equipped with air-conditioning, mosquito netting, en-suite bathrooms, tea/coffee stations, and refrigerators. Premier Waterhole and Waterhole Chalets are the preferred options due to their closeness to the waterhole. The property features two swimming pools, a bar, a kiosk, a tourist store, and a restaurant that provides either à la carte or buffet-style dining.
