Tortilis Camp

Tortilis Camp : Rates, Reviews, Booking Information

Amboseli National Park is situated on the border, offering views of Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped summits from this Kenyan park.  The region is inhabited by native Maasai, who have traversed ancient paths since childhood and constitute more than fifty percent of the guides at Tortilis Camp.

Wildlife traverses freely between the park and private properties, prompting the community to develop conservation initiatives.  Tortilis Camp compensates Maasai landowners with a regular rent to maintain the 12,000-hectare wildlife corridor, Kitirua Conservancy, from Amboseli to Tanzania.  The Maasai people conduct guided walks for tourists at Tortilis through Kitirua, demonstrating their profound knowledge of the region and its fauna.

Mount Kilimanjaro overlooks the 16 tents of the camp.  Each tent includes an en-suite bathroom and a verandah that provides stunning views of the mountain.  A family tent can host four individuals and shares a swimming pool with the Private House.  Activities encompass wildlife drives, guided excursions, spa therapies, and cultural engagements with the Maasai.
